It's the day after valentines day, and yesterday I had my 7th chemotherapy treatment which means that, mercifully, I only have one more to go! I am so very relieved that this part of the treatment will soon be over. Yay. Anyway, my mom accompanied me to treatment yesterday and in honour of Valentines day (I know, I know it's a giant marketing play yada yada) we were reading one of my favorite sufi mystic poets from the 13th century - Hafiz. Master of Love. Anyway, here are a few that particularly struck me yesterday.
A happy belated Valentines day to one and all.

The Day Sky
Let us be like
Two falling stars in the day sky
Let no one know of our sublime beauty
As we hold hands with God
And burn
Into a sacred existence that defies -
that surpasses
Every description of ecstasy
And Love.
Some Fill With Each Good Rain
There are different wells within your heart
Some fill with each good rain,
Others are far too deep for that.
In one well you have just a few precious cups of water,
that "love" is literally something of yourself.
It can grow as slow as a diamond
If it is lost
Your love should never be offered to the mouth of a
Stranger,
Only to someone
Who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife
Then weave them in a blanket to protect you.
There are different wells within us,
Some fill with each good rain.
Others are far, far too deep
For that.
Great genius poetry. Take care of yourself - thanks for all the great posts!
